Wow! Eight days to go until my novel is released. It's been such a long process that it almost feels anticlimatic at this point, but I'm still excited. Unfortunately, being released doesn't necessarily mean I'll be able to walk into a bookstore on August 4th and find it, but hopefully I will! I've been busy with promotional stuff, as follows;

- Emailed five different schools and/or library systems that I have a personal conenction to. This includes my elementary, middle school, and the Seattle and Bellevue library systems.

- Am in the process of setting up an author's visit to Hazel Park Academy. I would be visiting each of the English classes and possibly teaching a three week course on fantasy writing.

- Designing postcards to send out to all the libraries and bookstores here and in my hometown.

- Crossing my fingers and praying *g*

It's nerve-wracking, I'll be honest, to pour all this love and work into a novel and then sit back and hope people will buy it. Or even be interested. It's been cool, recently friends from high school and others have been finding me through my website, and I appreciate all the support. I still don't have dates for my trip to Seattle or my signing at Island Books, and the Borders in Richfield hasn't confirmed anything, either. Which is a bummer because I miss some of my regular customers from the Sbux there and was hoping some of them would show up.

Colorado was awesome. I know, I know, it's twisted to consider a week of dancing four plus hours a day awesome, but there you go...Blisters galore on the feet, but it felt so good to be moving, and my hip only gave me occasional twinges. I'm still looking for local studios to teach at, without much luck as of yet. But I suppose one can't have everything. I'll settle for Hagen Daaz chocolate peanut butter ice cream in a pinch *g*
