Have not posted in long time.

Bad Dena!

Rehearsals are going muy bueno. We've finished the blocking/dancing for The Farmer and The Cowman. Think fun and slightly square dancy. Reminds me of when my grandparents used to take me to their round-dancing classes and I'd sit on the sidelines and watch all the women in their pretty dresses :) When I was a really good girl my Grandma would let me try on her poofy square dance skirts and clip-on earrings. Ah, childhood ;P Last night we went out for drinks after rehearsal (I had pink lemonade. Long drive home...) Was talking to Jessica and the next show they're doing is Fiddler on the Roof. She told me I should try out for the younger sister, Hava (sp?), the one who is into books and marries the non-Jew. I'd love the part, but after my vocal audition from hell last time...but to get to sing "matchmaker, matchmaker, find me a match...!" :)

Am up to 214 pages in Magpie. But I'm getting sloppy and need to slow down. Well, it's more that I need to take more time revising and cutting before I post. I wrote the scene introducing her father and I'm not happy with it at all :( I mean, I'm making progress plot wise, but I have some v. important scenes coming up and I want them to be spot on perfect. In every nuance and detail. Because they have to convey a lot on many levels, spoken and unspoken, implied and overt. I think my latest post is a little more 'obvious' than past sections, partially because readers were complaining that I was being too 'coy' in withholding information. But now I may be swinging the other way. Sigh.

The joys of being a writer :P

And vacations - five nights + airfare - to Venice are going for around $1,300 online.

Bad Dena! Must save money! Must be responsible adult! Must think of credit card bills!

Okay, the last one did it ;P
