Roughly 260 pages on Magpie. How did that happen? :)

Wrote one scene out of order, so I'll now have to fill in the two scenes I skipped. And I'm a little concerned that I'm over-explaining because information was already revealed in earlier scenes, so there are things I can cut out, and maybe even scenes that aren't necessary. The Emperor is shaping up as a stronger character, though, which pleases me. This is definitely proving to be a more complicated novel than any I've written before. *stretches mental muscles*

Taught my last class at gym that is closing *sniff* Said good-bye to my regulars and thanked them for being so faithful for a year - longer than most of my relationships! :P I'm tired, though, we ran Act I twice last night with all the dancing, and my poor body is not thanking me today. Ah, well. Two weeks until opening night! Wow, where did the summer go? :)

Well - I've got 243 pages on Magpie, and another scene from Luong's POV done. He's been one of the harder characters for me to get a handle on, and I think I'm going to have to go back through the manuscript and read each of his scenes in order to figure out if this one fits with the groundwork I've laid. It's getting to the point in the manuscript where I have so many layers/plot threads that it can be hard to keep track of. I'd promised a critter an outline of the chapters he'd missed a few weeks ago and just haven't had time to get to it, but it might be time to try to put that together. I've jumped ahead, though, and am now writing the scene where Dianliao meets the man she's going to fall in love with. Because it's a fun scene and I want to write it, so there! Hee hee. I may not get to "adult content" as quickly as ebear, but I'll get there eventually :P

It would help, of course, if I wasn't so darned tired from rehearsals! :) Didn't get to bed until 11pm last night, but I slept like a log. We ran Act II twice, each with the different leads, and are running Act I tonight. Then I taught a new sculpting class today. But I'm quite excited because the class is only a half hour long - wicked easy to teach, but I get paid by the class, so I get my normal pay rate. And the women in the class (it's a corporate fitness center, so they all work together/know each other) seem quite nice.

Boss just left on vacation for the rest of the week. I shall have to good employee and find things for myself to do. Wish me luck!

239 pages on Magpie. Woo hoo! Don't like the last two scenes, though :( And I think part of my outline/scene blocking will need to be scrapped. Ah, well. It's progress!

The weekend was good - spent Friday night at my fav. place, the Wonder Bar, for Jess's b-day. Then went back to her new place - which is quite cute - to hang out and eat cake. She liked the sushi set and cookbook I bought her, though. Then Saturday I got stuff ready for the bbq, only to have to move it all inside when it started to rain, but I think people still had a good time. Read part of the new Harry Potter on Sat. and finished it on Sunday after a three hour rehearsal. Wimped out on going to church - too tired, and got out of rehearsal too late - but am afraid it's really because...I'm a wimp and don't want to see my ex with another girl. Bleh. Must get over this immediately! If I were a house elf I'd hit my head against the wall repeatedly ;)

Today I taught my last kick-boxing class at the gym that's closing - sniff. I'll miss my regulars, but it'll be nice not to have to teach on Mondays :) I've actually - gasp! - been semi-busy at work, which is probably good since another person was just asked to leave. And I'd rather not be next on the list. Spent part of today trying to figure out how I could afford to move to San Fran, only to figure out...I can't afford it :P And probably won't be able to for another two years - barring something crazy happening, like SQ becoming the next Harry Potter (I wish!) or my agent selling all three of my current novels (fingers crossed). But at least that reality forces me to stop whinging (as ebear would say) and be content for a couple of years (gulp!). Or write like crazy :P I'm off!
