Wheee!

Money! :) The first half of my advance was deposited into my account today. We shall all join Dena in doing the happy dance...

One of my co-workers asked me what I was going to pay off with it *snort* Pay off? Try 'dent!'

Today made up for the rest of my bad week. In addition to getting money - whee! - and writing checks all morning, I finished part of a scene in Magpie that had been giving me kittens. I'm at about 310 pages, give or take a paragraph. And everything's starting to come together, so it's the really, really sucky middle-of-book phase. Feh. But I also posted a new section to the OWW, so now I await my first crit with nail-biting impatience ;)

Last night's show went well, though it dragged for some reason and ended later than usual. I'm exhausted and my contacts are bothering my eyes, but I'm wearing a new blue wrap sweater I bought yesterday and my new ballet flats, so I'm happy.

And I got paid!

YEE HAWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Up to 308 pages...

And - I'M GETTING PAID!

My agent got the check from Dutton today, so it should be *touch wood* in my bank account by Thursday. Just in time for the carpenter who's going to be working on my roof. YEAH!

Did manage to take a Step class on my lunch break. It was good, and I wasn't panting as badly as last week when I had to teach ;) I wrote down her routine and got plenty of ideas, which was part of the reason I went.

And now I'm off to dinner with T...

I'm thinking Chinese food and a movie. Healthy, huh? :)

Woo hoo!

Broke page 305 on Mapgie - yeah! That makes for roughly 76,250 words. I have two skipped scenes to fill in and then I'll be up to The Battle. I hate battle scenes and am not looking forward to writing this one. Miquela sent me a couple of crits by e-mail, which was sweet of her, and I'm pleased that people seem to be getting the ambiguity of some of my character's decisions. Few of them are truly 'evil,' I'm trying to create the complexity of decisions that real life often brings.

In other news...
This weekend's performances went well, IMO. We had two really good houses Thurs. and Fri. and decent houses on Sat. and Sun. Around the show I managed to fit drinks on Friday night with T., laying out in the sun Sat. afternoon and getting seriously burnt while finishing Hidden Warrior (but also completing some more brainstorming for my Venetian idea), and dinner with friends after church on Sunday. We went to this great restaurant on Dartmouth called Geoffery's and ate outside. Goat cheese and chicken salald, yum!

I'm still full :) Therefore, I plan on hitting the gym on my lunch break. I'm also supposed to go out to dinner tonight, so I really need it! And I'd better stop procrastinating and do some work...
