Rehearsals for Oklahoma are going well. Last night the choregrapher taught us the Kansas City routine. It's not difficult, but it is fun. I get lifted up in the air and twirled around :) The drive to the theatre is only a half hour from my house, much better than where I last did a play, so I'm still getting to bed at a decent time.

Up to 172 pages in Magpie - yeah! - though I'm not sure about whether or not my agent will be able to sell it I'm going to finish it anyway. I can't stand leaving stuff half done. And I really love the book.

I got called into rehearsal on Tues., so no Bible study, but I have the rest of the week off. Hillary is on vacation in Oregon, so I'm probably going to try to get together with some of my other friends this weekend. Joel called today, except that he realized after he called that his cell was about to die, so we only talked briefly. But we might try to do something this weekend. I have a hair cut on Saturday, and rehearsals the whole afternoon on Sunday. Other than that, I want to start work on the one page treatment for my Venetian novel idea that John asked me to write.

The Carver will be going out to publishing houses next week - yeah! And then the nail-biting wait begins :P I must practice eBear's zen of submission...ommm...let it go...ommm... ;)

And the book I bought on Daily Life in China is proving very useful. Which means I won't feel guilty writing it off next year ;)

Woo hoo!

155 pages in Magpie. This makes me happy :) Chianxi is dead, so that scene is out of the way, and now they'll be heading back to the Imperial court. I have yet to figure out how much of the journey I will show onstage rather than imply. And I have to bring my book on Chinese myth to work so that I can insert a re-telling of a fan myth that I plan on using in this section. My subconscious reminded me about the vision Magpie had at the beginning of the novel. Now, mind you, I'm not sure how this will all tie together, but I know it will :) I have to have faith, I've written enough books by now, that eventually I'll find an ending. And a point :P Though I've yet the figure out my theme, per see, that usually comes as I near the end and things become clear.

I read more in my books on Venice and thought over various ways I could write that book. I have a feeling this one will be outlined, at least partially, which tends to happen with my YA books. But the history of Venice is fascinating stuff.

Went out with friends Friday and Saturday night, and saw the movie Down With Love. Which, if you're a Doris Day fan, I think you'd love. Anyone else, I don't think they'd get it. But it's on my list of "to buy" videos, which is a great honor given that I own exactly four (?) movies :) The Princess Bride, South Pacific, My Fair Lady and Beauty and the Beast. Used to own Strictly Ballroom, but when I moved out it kind of became my Dad's :P Why, no, I'm not a couch potato, why do you ask? :P

I taught this afternoon and had six people in my kick-boxing class - yeah! I usually get about four. (It's a very small gym, trust me). I have a meeting with the pastor at 4pm - ugh - which I hope to make it through with some semblance of self-control as I have rehearsals tonight at 7pm. Music rehearsals. Which I'm a little scared of, given how badly my music audition went. Oh, well, at least this way the music director is sure to be pleasantly surprised when he hears me sing ;P And the weather is finally warm and sunny out, which, of course, only happens when I have to be at work, and then driving or inside a theatre all night. Life is not fair :) But at least its unpredictability tends to bring good things, too :)
