Dena's Blog

A daily/weekly/whenever I feel like it blog for fantasy writer Dena Landon

Well, the ghostwriting novel is half-done. I'm moving quickly on it, which is good since my deadline is July 15th. Right before I leave for Colorado. I have a lot to do in the next month, and I'm feeling overwhelmed.

The line edits from SQ are in the mail - yeah! I can't wait to see them. So my deadline for finishing the novel will probably fall sometime in the next two months, when the ghostwriting novel is due. Jennifer and I are also working on choreography to share in Colorado, so that's another thing on my plate.

Luckily, I got the Dance Spirit article done and off in the mail. I'm not going to send any more queries/accept any more assignments until I get back from Colorado. The article will be coming out sometime this next winter, in case anyone is interested.

I will also be giving my first book talk! The date hasn't been set yet, but the Arlington Public Library is doing a summer series on YA fantasy and the librarian asked me to come give a reading/talk about publishing. I'm very excited, though somewhat nervous, as this will be my first 'official' author appearance :) Oh, and my website should be updated sometime in the next month, too, so look for new stuff (and a picture of me - gulp), as well as an email newsletter than you can sign up for. Which I promise will only be for me to remind everyone when my novel comes out. So you can all go buy it. Or at least ask for it at Borders so they'll carry it, okay? :)

I'm taking a break from working on Magpie to write this, but it's back to edits for me!
