Dena's Blog

Got back from L.A. yesterday. Already miss the Boy a lot. The weather was nice - in the eighties and sunny - but bizarre in that it's October. And it just feels wrong to be at the beach (let alone going into the water) in October.

House is off the market for the winter. Am going to see what I can do about a lawsuit against the previous owners/getting the roof fixed. I wanted to ignore this problem, but have figured out that it's not going away. *sigh* There are times I hate being an adult. I want to be irresponsible and make this someone else's problem! :)

And the exciting news is that I have the new section on SQ written. Yeah! It's rough, and will be polished before going to editor, but it's done. I'm not continuing with the revisions until I have my editor's okay on it, though, because I don't feel like wasting another six months of my life. Ie, I want to make sure it's what she wants before I implement the changes the new beginning will force throughout the rest of the manuscript.

Man I hope this works.

And I have two to three scenes left to write on Magpie. That's it. Can you believe it? I need to get this thing done, but am stuck on what - exactly - will happen at the Festival of Peaches. I know what the outcome will be in terms of the Immortals/the Emperor, but have no clue how to write the scene that leads to the outcome. If that makes sense :) It's writer babble for - "I'm stuck!"

But I'm also fighting a cold, so it's off to bed for me!
