Oh my goodness, I'm so sore! My trapezius and forearms are killing me, which is what comes from a weekend of working non-stop on my new house. The master bedroom is now painted and the bathrooms have been scrubbed. I have been able to get some writing done, however.
Emailed another source for my latest Dance Spirit article. I have one exercise I can use and need to find at least two more. With two weeks until my deadline my fingers are crossed.
I've sent out eighteen press kits to local high schools and junior highs about author visits. So now I wait. I hate waiting ;) I'm in the process of calling the other schools in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to get specific names of the teachers who head up their English departments. It's better to address an envelope to a person, in my opinion. I've also sent out press kits to a few community centers about teaching writing. Haven't heard anything back about that, either.
I did hear back from the Armatage Rec Center about teaching dance, though. I will be teaching one afternoon a week this fall (we haven't picked a day yet), creative dance for 3-5 year old's, jazz/hip hop for 8-10 year old's, and jazz/hip hop for teens. I'm really excited, I think it's going to be a lot of fun. So if anyone reading this knows anyone out there with kids in that age group...pass the word on, please :) I'm still looking for work the other nights of the week.
No real progress on the novels, just a page and a half on the Spain novel yesterday. I've just been so stressed with the whole 'buying a house' and 'transferring stores' thing.
Tomorrow I have the whole day off, so I'll probably be lugging boxes over to the new house, and doing more painting. Maybe some gardening, too, depending on the weather. It goes without saying that I'll sleep in. And maybe start thinking about a housewarming party...
