Last weekend my best friend from high school, Suzy, was in town. It was so great to see her again! The weather was icky, rainy and overcast, but we walked around the Commons and up and down Newbery St, talking non-stop the whole day. I definitely didn't want to say good-bye, but we promised each other it wouldn't be another six years before we got together again :) Other than that, I did a lot of research on Venice for my next book and cleaned up around the house. Got a haircut (it's too short, but it'll grow) and my eyebrows waxed (which was an experience).
On Monday I helped my friend Steph move. In the rain :( But she was super organized and had everything packed before we even showed up, which was great. Her new place is exactly a block away from her old one ;P Had a musical rehearsal that night which went well. Luckily, there's not much to sing in Oklahoma. Last night we choregraphed part of 'Many a New Day' - it's balletic and cute, I enjoyed it - which we'll finish next week.
Writing is going well - up to 192 pages in Magpie - woo hoo! And I've got outlined about 100 pages more, though I don't have the ending yet. That will come (my mantra of late ;P)
I've been researching vacations to Venice, too. I need to get out of the country, it's been too long and I'm getting antsy. But I don't have anyone to travel with and it's much cheaper if you go with someone :( I swear, the world is prejudiced against single people. So now I'm trying to figure out who I can convince to come to Italy with me. Then I'll figure out how to pay for it ;)
Everything else in life is the same. I might usher this weekend at a production of Once Upon A Mattress in order to see it for free, depends on if my friend Leane wants to go with me, and I'm probably going out drinking with friends Friday night. Tonight it's dance class, as I'm feeling bloated and fat, then home to sit on my couch. (Somewhere in there is irony, but I'm not in the mood to deal with it ;P).
Off to try to finish this scene in Magpie!
